OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK - CAPTURE INTEGRATION & ALPA ACADEMY MASTERCLASS

SEPTEMBER 17th to 22nd 2023

“Hosted by my very good friends at Capture Integration, this will be my third workshop in the Pacific Northwest.

The choice of location for the workshop was inspired by the simple fact that the Olympic National Park has such a diverse range of scenery and with the added bonus of some often challenging and dramatic weather, which is something I relish when making personal landscape work.

The grand Lake Quinault Lodge is a truly wonderful place to be based. Stepped in history and surrounded by beautiful landscape, it is the perfect place to unwind, relax and immerse yourself in a week of landscape photography”

WHY THE OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK?

The Olympic National Park is a place of tremendous natural diversity and breathtaking beauty, with over 922,651 acres of preserved wilderness. Little has changed since its first traces as a home of Native American tribes and, later, its first settlements by Europeans in the late 1500s.

Often times the best images are made in conditions where many photographers would head inside. Apart from severe weather circumstances, the shoots for this workshop will carry on rain or shine.

Please remember to pack for cold morning sunrise shoots and plan your attire for almost any conditions; we recommend layers.

With nearly one million acres, Olympic National Park encompasses several distinctly different ecosystems and protects a rich mosaic of natural and cultural history.

Untamed rivers flow from glacier-capped peaks through valleys of old-growth forests, waves crash against a shoreline rich with life, and only trails traverse the vast interior of this internationally recognized wilderness.

Below is a selection of work that I’ve made in the Olympic National Park and Pacific Northwest area.

ABOUT THE MASTERCLASS

• THE ALPA ACADEMY

This workshop is hosted by industry leading experts, Capture Integration and supported by the ALPA Academy and is a part of their programme of ambassador lead events.

It's important to point out though, that you do not need to be an ALPA or medium format camera owner to attend this workshop.

ALPA Cameras, who will be on hand, to answer questions and talk about the company’s cameras, ethos and exciting future.

Working with ALPA ambassadors worldwide, the academy’s aim is to educate and inspire existing owners of ALPA equipment and also those who are simply considering moving across to a medium format camera system.

Through the community and events of the ALPA Academy, we seek to become better seers of the world.

Here you can unwind in front of our majestic fireplace, dine in the historic Roosevelt Dining Room, curl up with a good book by the lake, paddleboard or fish in the afternoon sun, or venture deep into the temperate rainforest and enjoy the cool shade of the giant trees..
